Adobe Lightroom has done it once again. It has improved! A free upgrade for all Lightroom 3 users, Lightroom is now version 3.3. Ok you may ask, what does Lightroom do in the first place?
Well Lightroom is an image processing program that allows you to work on one to thousands of images, processing and organizing them along the way. And that’s not all it does. You can show your images in slide shows, web galleries and print layouts uploading them to your website or photo-sharing sites.

I know this is a misleading title but I just couldn’t help it. Even as an owner of a 64 gig IPad, I am on the lookout for an Ipad type device that will do better than what Apple offers in this device. First let me say, I love the size of the screen. Easily viewable without having to scroll or squint, I can turn the screen from portrait mode to landscape at will. I also love the screen brightness which allows me to see easily in normal as well as in bright light settings. I could go on about what I like about the Ipad but what would kill this device is what I do not like about it.

I often wonder how long it takes for a person that creates an extremely good piece of work to get it done. I know it depends on a lot of factors but the biggest one I think is the tools that you use. I personally know of some graphic design people, that use a mouse for all of their design work. Gasp, I know, I know … how can one, hours on end, use a mouse to draw and design with. Well if you don’t know anything else or haven’t realized the investment of a tablet, then you could be making this mistake.

As a first post, I want to thank all for welcoming me to Indy Media Artists as the membership manager. Our meetings are open to all types of media artists wishing to bond and connect with other artists which will hopefully allow us to grow creatively in talent as well as personally. Much is learned here in a give and take environment. So come prepared ready to learn and give out that newest tip you have found out from your Adobe experiences.
