Before I delve into the meat and potatoes of this book, I want to first commend Rockport on what an amazing publisher they are. I have reviewed and purchased books from publishers such as O’Reilly, Focal Press, and Linda.com and, while I enjoy their books, the presentation and style of Rockport’s books is amazing.

Color Efex Pro 3.0 is the complete filter set produced by Nik Software. It is available in 3 levels of software as standard, select and complete. In this latest version there are nine new filters that include filters, color correction, retouching and provide creative enhancements. The nine new filters are Bleach bypass, Cross balance, Film effects- this emulates over 30 different film types, Film grain, Glamour glow- especially effective for wedding and portrait use, High Key. Low key, Polaroid Transfer and Tonal contrast.

In the Complete version there are 52 photographic filters.
