Steve Job's Thoughts on Flash

Apple has a long relationship with Adobe. In fact, we met Adobe’s founders when they were in their proverbial garage. Apple was their first big customer, adopting their Postscript language for our new Laserwriter printer. Apple invested in Adobe and owned around 20% of the company for many years.

Wallaby now available for Flash testing

"Wallaby" is the codename for an experimental technology that converts the artwork and animation contained in Adobe® Flash® Professional (FLA) files into HTML. This allows you to reuse and extend the reach of your content to devices that do not support the Flash runtimes.

Once these files are converted to HTML, you can edit them with an HTML editing tool, such as Adobe Dreamweaver®, or by hand if desired. You can view the output in one of the supported browsers or on an iOS device.

To check it out go here: http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/wallaby/

HTML5 Video, Flash, etc.

Anyone interested in providing video to ALL consumers should check out the latest blog post from Greg Rewis (Assorted Garbage). Greg is the principal evangelist for Creative Suite at Adobe and he and his wife Stephanie (Sullivan) Rewis have been testing out the latest and greatest in HTML5 and CSS3 with some great results. The best part is that they are very willing to share.

In his October 11th post, Rewis discusses an approach to offer up Flash to browsers that can support it with a fallback to native video (H.264).

What is HTML 5 and Why Should We Care?

in

Everyone has heard of HTML (HyperText Markup Language), its a relatively easy to learn language that allows for the quick creation of web sites. That description is clear, to the point and no one will ever dispute it.

But then, along comes HTML5 to rock the boat a little bit and that description is both vague and very far from the point. So, what is HTML5? HTML5 is HTMLs latest major revision, with a lot of added features and exciting attributes.

Amara Flash Software

I wasn't exactly sure what Mix-FX was supposed to provide when I downloaded it. I found that it is a tool to create simple Flash animation graphics for websites or Powerpoint presentations.

I found it very easy to get the program to perform it's stated functions. No need to refer to the dreaded instructions. The program worked as stated and provided Flash animated text and also Flash animated buttons to use for websites.
