Pro Blogger was an interesting read. At the beginning they talked a lot about how not everyone is going to make a six-figure income right away. This was is stark contrast to the title of the book, but a pointed that need to be made. If you think you are going to make a six-figure income right away after reading this book you are wrong. Darren and Chris help you with some of the methods they have used and give you a frame work to build upon, but you have to have the drive and determination to do it.

I wasn't exactly sure what Mix-FX was supposed to provide when I downloaded it. I found that it is a tool to create simple Flash animation graphics for websites or Powerpoint presentations.

I found it very easy to get the program to perform it's stated functions. No need to refer to the dreaded instructions. The program worked as stated and provided Flash animated text and also Flash animated buttons to use for websites.

I say it is practically the de facto standard in audio recording and mastering. It is said, Sound Forge has evolved into a version that has outdone even itself. Sound Forge 10 has added even more to its intuitive layout and ease of use features. It now seems with this program, if you want to do something with your audio, Sound Forge 10 can do it. All you need is the audio and the hardware running Windows based software. That’s right, no Apple OS allowed.

When I received the Artbeats presentation box, I thought it contained a DVD disc with a booklet ready to go and use. The box looked like it could go on a shelf in a computer store, nicely made with the logo “Artbeats” and “Footage you can Use” printed on it. The only thing inside however was a letter on a 8X10 piece of paper addressed to any Indy Media Artists Member. The member eventually turned out to be me.

The program was fun to play with and pretty flexible although I did not use the edges, grain and other "corrective" features since I do not do my own printing (I leave it up to my lab) and have similar features in Photoshop CS3 which I have yet to investigate. I use CS3 for zooming-cropping-and it looked like this might be sharper and would have to print some images for comparison.

I use Irfan View or Photoshop for resizing and did not investigate using Pro 3.1 for that.

Previously, I was a fan of Vegas. With version 9, I am an even bigger fan. It amazes me how Sony Creative Software continues to improve on such a great product.

This is a well written comprehensive guide to a complex subject.  Not that CSS in itself is that complex, but the way that it has to interact with HTML and XHTML along with PHP and Perl and a dozen other web languages.

One of the things I first noticed was the change in the adjustment layers. Every time you add an adjustment layer, there opens a corresponding palette above the layers palette. This is great. Now you can fine tune the adjustment layers without opening a new window every time. You can fly through all the adjustments and make tweaks to each one. Another great aspect is the tabbed window interface. This is awesome, if you like to have multiple documents open at the same time. It is so much easier to find the document that you need to work on.

Professional Web Design: Techniques and Templates is written for beginners and intermediates. First of all I have to mention that this book is kind of dated. The book was published in 2008, but it must have been early in the year. I think much of the technology that is discussed is old and out of date. The author does have a newer version of this book and I would suggest looking at that version instead.

While someone familiar with design and image formats may find some of the information boring, it could be useful to someone who has no experience in that area.
