The book HTML, XHTML, CSS Bible is fairly straightforward in providing the reader with information on creating content with HTML. The various parts of the book are broken up into chapters on what HTML is, tools used to develop, and controlling presentation with Cascading Style Sheets (CSS).
Each Part has an average of 10 chapters with Part 1 containing the most chapters since it covers all the tools and aspects of HTML. Some examples of these tools are lists, labels, tables, frames, forms, and colors and images and how to create these in a document; using HTML formatting.
It is important to note that the book makes a bold captioned point, with a follow up paragraph, indicating that it is not a web design book. The book instructs the basics of HTML elements, how to implement and integrate said elements, and layering CSS over HTML.
The HTML, XHTML, CSS Bible is geared toward a broad audience and individuals just getting started in HTML and Web content development. However, experienced users can benefit from this book as the book contains new standards and technologies and can be a comprehensive reference guide.
I realize this book is very technical in nature but I would like to have seen some vivid illustrations or colorful relevant images to accompany the text. I feel this could help offset the dryness of the information presented and possibly extend the book to a wider audience.
The HTML, XHTML, CSS Bible accurately provides users with the knowledge to construct static and dynamic Web pages, as well as build for a mobile and social networking world.
Overall, the book contains a wealth of knowledge on HTML, XHTML, and CSS and definitely proves to be a great reference tool for anyone in web design or web development.
