Pro Blogger was an interesting read. At the beginning they talked a lot about how not everyone is going to make a six-figure income right away. This was is stark contrast to the title of the book, but a pointed that need to be made. If you think you are going to make a six-figure income right away after reading this book you are wrong. Darren and Chris help you with some of the methods they have used and give you a frame work to build upon, but you have to have the drive and determination to do it.

One of the topic they talk about is finding your niche. You have to find out what you are passionate about. If you are not passionate about your subject you will have a hard time creating content and putting in the time it takes to be successful.

The authors also break down how to monetize your blog and actually make money from it. They describe direct monetization and indirect monetization. Direct monetization is achieved by advertising, sponsorships, affiliate commissions, and paid reviews. Indirect monetization is achieved outside of the blog from freelance writing contract, book deals, speaking engagements, consulting opportunities, service contracts, and selling your own products.

It was nice to see the provided case studies, personal experience, and tips that the author provided. It really gives you a sense of the dedication that it takes to become successful and some of the obstacles he had to over come.

Overall I think this book is a good read for someone new to blogging and thinking about how they might monetize their blog. If you are an expert blogger already it might bot have as much value for you. I gain a lot of insight from the book adn would recommend it.
