Sony SoundForge 10 Pro
I say it is practically the de facto standard in audio recording and mastering. It is said, Sound Forge has evolved into a version that has outdone even itself. Sound Forge 10 has added even more to its intuitive layout and ease of use features. It now seems with this program, if you want to do something with your audio, Sound Forge 10 can do it. All you need is the audio and the hardware running Windows based software. That’s right, no Apple OS allowed.
New features not included in past versions are integrated disc at once CD burning and customizable window layouts which allows your workspace look the way you want it to look. With this programs intuitive user interface the job gets done faster and you even have fun doing it. Also included is a comprehensive audio production suite with the Noise Reduction 2 plug-in and the Mastering Effects Bundle 2 by Izotope.
A new elastique Pro timestretch and pitch plug-in is easy to use making that claim for the program as true as well.
Sound Forge Pro 10 also supports a multiple of video formats including AVI, WMV, MP3 and MPEG-1 and 2. MPEG-2 templates for writing HDV compliant files at the highest 1080i resolution are included as well as templates for WMV and AVI encoded at 720p and 1080p.
System requirements for this program should not be a problem with computers having at least a 1 GHZ processor and 512mb RAM running one of the last three Windows operating systems that have been out. Just 350mb is needed for installation of the program.
If you know Sound Forge, you know that it does everything an audio editor wants it to do. For the beginners or even the not so beginners who do not want to shell out the $375 to work like the professionals, a Sound Forge studio version is available for around $65. This version is more than enough for the beginners. Go ahead and try out the 30 day free trial offer. Trying out both will let you get a feel for what you really need!
