Photomatix Essentials - Don't toss your poor images!
Photomatix Essentials is a software that will merge three images together or take one image and add a special effect. I've seen artists use this technique for:
High Dynamic Range (HDR) - psychedelic
HDR - natural look
Creativity
1. With the HDR image, the final product is usually a psychedelic image. The images have a 'disco lighting' tone and viewers often immediately say, "Oh you did that with HDR right?"

This is so far the best book if you are planning to start seriously learning how to shoot creative Video with your new DSLR. I was little skeptical but this book gives you all the information needed. Beautiful color images explaning things is just awesome. (1 picture is better than 1000 words). As an added bonus the book tries to dive into little bit of story and dialog wriring which i think depends on your taste. I was looking to get more technical information about various "how to" questions because I am trying to get into macro videography and I got it in this book.
EZ Mask Photoshop Plugin

EZ Mask Photoshop plugin is easy to use for simple object extraction. The plugin helps remove an image from one photo and place it into another photo.
For extracting images with fine details (like hair), there is a learning curve and you should expect to spend a little time to remove the hair - at least an hour or two if you are a beginner.

Practical HDR (High Dynamic Range)

Practical HDR by David Nightingale covers High Dynamic Range (HDR) from choosing your camera, to settings, to software.
My main criticism of the book would be the extremely small font. It's really, really, REALLY small which makes it almost unpleasant to read. It's so bad that this choice of font size is my sole reason for downgrading the book to 4 stars.
That being said, there is a wealth of information within. I'm new to HDR and the content of this book is excellent for beginners. I suspect intermediate and advanced users would also gain some tips.
