I recently had an opportunity to try onOne Software's Perfect Mask 5, the latest version of Mask Pro 4 for replacing backgrounds. Although this application can be used from within Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom and Apple Aperture, Perfect Mask may also be used as a standalone application. One feature that impressed me was the library of backgrounds available from within the application. Some of these background images include inside and outside areas, skies, studio backdrops and walls.

Adobe Suite CS6

in
Adobe has publicly confirmed what they’ve been hinting for a while now: a new annual release schedule for the Creative Suite – with milestone releases in even years, and mid-cycle releases in odd years.  The shift comes as the technology world turns faster from the previous cycles of 18-24 months historically.

You can now rent your Adobe Suite

I tend not to like subscriptions. I like to buy my products and own them. Well, Adobe announced a subscription based model with the announcement of CS5.5. You can still outright buy the software. Although, if you don’t want to fork out the cash all at once, they have two subscription models. There is an annual with month-to-month payments and a no contract month-to-month plan. The advantage of the annual month-to-month is that your monthly fees are less, but you are locked into a year commitment.

Free upgrade to Lightroom 3 users

Adobe Lightroom has done it once again. It has improved! A free upgrade for all Lightroom 3 users, Lightroom is now version 3.3. Ok you may ask, what does Lightroom do in the first place?
Well Lightroom is an image processing program that allows you to work on one to thousands of images, processing and organizing them along the way. And that’s not all it does. You can show your images in slide shows, web galleries and print layouts uploading them to your website or photo-sharing sites.

Can Adobe, Apple and Google Be Friends

I recently read an article on cnet.com titled, “Adobe moves further into Google’s orbit”. The article comments on Adobe’s mobile strategy and how it is tied to the long term success of Android. Adobe had tried originally to partner with Apple as far back as 2008 on the iphone. With the recent Steve Jobs bashing of Adobe Flash, there is now a certain amount of bad blood between Adobe and Apple. With the Android platform quickly rising to compete with the iphone, Google has become real competitor for Apple. Adobe technologies are now being optimized for Android phones and eventually Google TV.
